Easy Vegan Halloween Spider Cookies

Happy Halloween!
A while back, I was debating to what recipe I would share with you guys this year for Halloween. I wanted to do something different. Last year I shared the ghost brownies, and my first thought was black velvet cupcakes because I saw an amazing recipe but not only I couldn't find the best way to do black colouring since I couldn't find them for sale, I then remembered I had already shared some cupcake/muffin recipe and wanted to do something different.

I was scrolling and found this idea of cookies with spiders and decided to give it my twist, so I hope you enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

  • - Any chocolate chip cookie recipe  ( you can see mine here)
    - A pack of Maltesers*
-1/2 cup of vegan milk/dark chocolate
*I searched online and found some articles that said that Malteasers are vegetarian so that's the reason I called this recipe vegan. If I later find that this isn't true, I'll remove it.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Start by making any chocolate chip recipe that you want. I decided to make the recipe that I'm used to doing that you can read here on my blog. It's a vegan recipe. Bake the cookies on parchment paper according to the recipe.
  • Remove them from the oven and let them cool for a couple minutes and stick the Maltesers into the bottom third of each cookie in order to create the spider body shape. Let the cookies cool down completely for around 30 minutes.
  • Once the cookies are cool, melt the dark chocolate with a little bit of coconut oil until is completely smooth. With a piping bag, pipe the spider's legs connecting from the body to the edge of the cookie.
  • Enjoy!
Mine didn't look perfect but I bet yours will!

And Happy Halloween!
